Hi!

Thanks for checking out my blog! I write sometimes confessional, always sex-positive posts about sex, relationships, and porn. If that sounds like something you’re into, be sure to check out my latest posts.

Anal Is the New Birth Control

Anal Is the New Birth Control

Who knew protection could be this fun?

I know it sounds like a joke, but I am completely serious. Anal sex really is one of my birth control methods of choice.

It’s not something they’ll teach you in high school sex ed, and the nurse who doles out condoms and advice about the morning after pill probably won’t recommend it, but I’ve used this method in my teenage years and in my married life and it’s proven to be both reliable and fun.

Now, of course, I know I didn’t invent this. Christian teens have long been rumored to use anal sex as a way of avoiding vaginal penetration. And although I don’t have any religious reasons for doing it, I salute them for blazing the trail.

It’s More Romantic Than You Think

Although it’s growing in acceptance, anal sex is still seen as a taboo. Even a lot of the women who enjoy it still can’t shake the feeling that there’s something a little dirty about it.

But it really doesn’t deserve the raunchy reputation we’ve given it. It really can be an intimate act, and one that’s appropriate for relationships of all stripes.

That’s because good anal sex is all about trust and care. In most cases, it needs to be taken slowly and engaged in gradually. It needs a lot of preparation - both psychologically and physically. And it requires a partner who is continually attuned to the way you’re feeling so they can know when to slow down, when to keep going, and when to let you take the lead.

Personally, it’s not something I would do in every kind of sexual encounter. The overly eager and selfish guys who can make half-decent one-night stands just aren’t good candidates for some enjoyable backdoor play.

If all that attention, care, and intimate physical contact isn’t romantic, then I don’t know what is.

There Are No Perfect Methods

Of course, it’s not a perfect birth control method because, really, there is no such thing. Every type of birth control involves some kind of compromise.

But that’s what I like about using anal sex for birth control. I’ve used it in conjunction with other methods - everything from the calendar method to condoms - and it’s allowed me to make up for some of the downsides of those approaches.

Anal Sex Doesn’t Mess With Your Hormones

I first started thinking seriously about anal sex as birth control when I decided to go off the pill.

I had been taking hormonal birth control practically since I hit puberty. It was sort of the default. Every girl who reached the age where she might start lusting after boys was supposed to start taking it, just in case.

The pill was always presented in a positive light. It would keep you from getting pregnant - no need to wonder how it worked, it just did (well, for the most part).

So, I took it religiously, and I had no idea that it was slowly wreaking havoc on me.

There are quite a few side effects you can get from taking the pill. I had three major ones. There were mood swings. There were also unbearable migraine headaches. But probably worst of all is that it seriously diminished my sex drive, especially once my raging teenage hormones started to give way.

Ruining my sex drive really affected me. I think it’s no surprise to any of my followers that I love sex. And it was quite depressing to not want it while also really strongly wanting to want it. It felt like a part of me was missing.

Though I do have to admit, killing my sex drive was a great way to keep me from getting pregnant.

In general, it’s best not to mess with your hormones unless they’re out of balance. I’ve been off the pill for years now and I will never go back on it. I’d much rather resort to anal sex than put my body through that again.

It’s Free and Always Available

Even though I had more disposable income as a teenager, I still noticed one big downside to condoms: they’re not free.

Maybe that’s not a big deal for everyone. But when I was fucking multiple times a week and often multiple times per day, it really stated to add up.

When I was with a guy who was ready to go for a second round, the last thing I wanted to do was hesitate because of the price tag.

And then there’s the matter of stock. Unless you stockpile condoms like a doomsday prepper, you’re going to find yourself running out, and often when you least want to. If you have a particularly fun weekend, you’ll burn through that three-pack you picked up at the drug store in no time.

I’ve never wanted to risk pregnancy because I was horny, but I also never wanted to give up fucking because of those risks. Anal sex was the perfect middle ground.

No Days Off

I went off birth control pills and once I got married, I stopped using condoms, too.

I decided to get pregnant four times, so I’ve got a lot of experience tracking my cycles. At this point, I have a very good idea of when I ovulate and when I’m a few days away from ovulating.

I’m done having kids, and by avoiding sex on certain days of month, I can make sure I don’t accidentally have a fifth.

It’s an effective method of birth control, but the big downside is that it keeps me from fucking when I want to. Not only do I have to block some days off the calendar, but my pre-ovulation period also just happens to be when I’m at my horniest.

I don’t want to just watch reruns with my husband when I’m really raging for cock. And with anal sex, I get to go to fifth base right around ovulation time without having to worry.

I Love When They Finish Inside

This one might be a little more subjective, but I love when a man comes inside me.

I’m not entirely sure why that is, but it’s some primal and animalistic urge I have.

Having a man pull out and come on my thighs, ass, or stomach is its own kind of fun, sure. But it’s nowhere near as hot as having him climax in me.

But I’m not a fan of swallowing (or spitting, for that matter) and coming in my pussy is often off-limits if I’m not trying to have a baby. So, that only leaves one place for a proper finish.

Variety Keeps Things Fun

I know that vaginal sex vs. anal sex is a false dichotomy. There are plenty of other fun ways to keep yourself occupied without risking pregnancy. You have a veritable smorgasbord of cock sucking and pussy eating, fingering and tit fucking, handjobs and rimming.

It’s true, but I want all of that and then some.

I love variety. I don’t want to stick to one position for an entire sex session, and I want to keep things fresh with a lot of different types of play.

I’ll take some good finger-fucking over nothing, of course. But I don’t like feeling restricted.

And that’s part of the fun of using anal for birth control. You don’t have to restrict yourself to the kinds of things you did when you were experimenting sexually with boys but weren’t ready to go all the way yet.

So, I urge you all to keep condoms on hand and track your cycles, but I also recommend making anal sex one of your regular birth control methods.

If you’re with someone you can trust, it’s a highly pleasurable, extremely intimate, and perfectly safe way to keep from getting pregnant.

And if you’re not with a partner you can trust enough to have anal sex with, you deserve better.
